QuickBooks was built for a coffee shop. SkySlope was built for transaction compliance and e-signatures. The Books add-on extends the platform into accounting, the product's center of gravity is still forms and transaction workflow, not financial infrastructure.
Loft47 started from commission splits, trust subledgers, and compliance triggers. Focus is on 100% accurate accounting and financial transparency.

Fidelity National Financial, one of the largest title insurance companies in the US, acquired a 67% majority interest in SkySlope in October 2017. FNF's core business is title and escrow services at the closing table — a different business than running a brokerage's day-to-day financial operations.
That doesn't make Books (formerly Zipi) a bad accounting add-on. It does mean the company behind it has a different center of gravity than a brokerage's commission and trust accounting needs.
If your brokerage adopted Books because you were already using SkySlope for forms and transaction management, that's a reasonable starting point — and a different decision than choosing accounting software on its own merits. Loft47 integrates directly with SkySlope's transaction management, so you can keep the forms workflow you know and move only the accounting.
